We would like to hear from you!
It's a fun league, so we want to do some 'out of the ordinary' activities to gather up more points for your team. If you like'em, then vote to keep'em!
  • Curling carnival days will take place  3 times in the season (Day 1, Day 10, Day 20)
    • Rock the house - rocks in the house ( to the 8ft, to the 4ft, to the button)
    • It's a Slide down - who can slide the furthest
    • Sweep-stakes - highest number of sweeping strokes in a minute
  • Convenor's Call (means I get to pick the days we do 'em)
    • Double Jeopardy - sheet that finishes 4/5 ends in record time wins extra points
    • Music on Ice - we play music on the ice days

Day 1 - What to bring, What's allowed

Q: When's the first day? Last day?
A: Wednesday TFL on- ice start time 4.30pm and end time is 6pm. Arrive at least 10minutes early to gear up & warm up. Our first day is October 17th with approximately 20 games ending on the last day of March 6th with an end of season party: where the team with the most points will be recognized with the TFL trophy and the TFL curlers will nominate the curler with the "best curling spirit". There will be no games on Dec 26th, Jan 2nd and Feb 13th.

Q: What do I have to bring?
A: Spirit of safety, sportsmanship & an attitude for a fun game plus your own curling broom & curling shoes

Q: What's allowed during the game?
A: Since this is a recreational league, there will be no coaching & no time outs allowed during the game. Teen curlers have indicated that any signalling, tapping body signals from behind the glass are a distraction and serve to create confusion not the clarity that was intended. We ask parents/coaches in attendance to make keep notes for discussion post game.

Registration News

Q: How many curlers are signed up for TFL?
A: We currently have 20 curlers who have successfully sent in their registrations plus payment to our drawmaster, Deb Innes (email: chris.innes@gmail.com)

Q: Is there still room in TFL?
A: There are 8 spots available.

Q: Is there a deadline for registration?
A: We've had many inquiries however a spot is only guaranteed if we receive the registration form and payment no later than Friday, October 5th

Q: How are solo's assigned to a team?
A: Based on the information provided on the registration forms, our drawmaster - Deb will do her best to put together teams. If there have been any special requests i.e I like to be the skip, we'll do our best to accommodate. However, we are thinking of keeping things fresh 'n exciting by mixing things up likely every 7th game.
